The City That
Created Itself

Since 1905, Davis businesses have been building something extraordinary. A university town that became an innovation hub. A farming community that became the bike capital of America. A small city with a $13.18 billion economic impact. This is what happens when a community decides to invest in itself.

Where Davis Gathers

1905

From a train stop to a ten-square-mile miracle

When the Davis Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1905, "Davis" was barely a name on a map. A University Farm had just opened. A handful of merchants served the students and farmers who gathered at the train depot. Nobody could have imagined what would grow from those ten square miles.

121 years later, Davis is home to a world-class research university with a $13.18 billion economic impact, a Farmers Market celebrating its 50th year with 90 vendors, Nugget Markets (a Fortune 100 Best Company to Work For), over 100 miles of bike lanes and 25 bike bridges, and a community of 67,000 people who chose this place because it invests in itself.

The chamber has been here for every chapter. We plan to be here for every chapter that comes next.

Rusty Seymour, Board Chair
The Davis Chamber isn't just a membership organization. It's the connective tissue of our local economy, bringing together UC Davis, small business owners, nonprofits, and residents to build something none of us could build alone.
