Davis Chamber of Commerce · Est. 1905

BIKE CAPITAL of America

In 1905, a group of civic leaders founded this chamber to lobby the state for a university farm. They got UC Davis. In 1967, Davis built the first bike lane in the United States. Today, with 100+ miles of bike lanes and 25 bike-only bridges and tunnels, Davis remains the undisputed cycling capital of America.

Who We Are

Powering the Business Heartbeat of Davis Since 1905

The Davis Chamber of Commerce is the oldest civic organization in Davis, founded to secure what became UC Davis, a university that now generates $13.18 billion in statewide economic impact and supports 61,700 jobs regionally. For over a century, we have connected local businesses, advocated for smart growth, and made Davis one of the most livable small cities in America.

We represent 337 member businesses across every sector, from homegrown icons like Nugget Markets (Fortune 100 Best Companies) and Sudwerk Brewing (2021 GABF Brewery of the Year) to innovative manufacturers like DMG MORI and their 221,000 sq ft carbon-free factory.
